1. General Troubleshooting
The app asks for camera permission
- Why? Augmented Reality needs camera access to detect flashcards or surfaces.
- Solution: Grant permission in your device’s Settings under App Permissions (iOS: Settings > Privacy; Android: Settings > Apps/Permissions).
Camera not working or shows a black screen
- Check Permissions: Make sure you have allowed the app to use the camera.
- Close Other Apps: Close apps that might be using the camera.
- Restart: If the issue persists, restart your device and reopen AR Kid’s Kit.
Insufficient storage error
- Cause: Each AR model and texture can be large.
- Solution:
- Use the in-app Download Manager to remove unneeded content.
- Free up space by deleting unused apps or files.
- Restart your device, then retry the download.
App freezing or crashing in AR/VR
- Memory Overload: Close other apps to free RAM.
- Device Updates: Ensure your operating system (iOS/Android) is up to date.
- Power Supply: Low battery can cause performance issues—charge your device or plug it in.

3. Flashcards & AR Detection
App not detecting flashcards
- Lighting: Ensure the area is well-lit and avoid glare.
- Steady View: Hold the camera steadily and keep the entire flashcard in view.
- Card Condition: Damaged or worn-out cards may be difficult to recognize. Consider reprinting if needed.
Using the app without flashcards
- Option Available: On the flashcard prompt screen, select Use App Without Flashcards.
- Features: You can still explore 3D models and interactive content without the physical cards.
4. Performance & Device Compatibility
Checking if your device is supported
- Minimum Requirements:
- iOS: iOS 15+
- Android: Android 10+ with ARCore support (for working without Flashcards).
- RAM: 3GB or more.
- Search Tool: Visit our Device Compatibility & Search Tool page (if available) to see if your device is on the supported list.
Overheating or Rapid Battery Drain
- Reason: AR is processor-intensive, generating 3D models in real time.
- Solution: Reduce session length, lower screen brightness, and close unnecessary apps.
