In a wide green forest, a strong lion frightened many animals. One day, the animals gathered and decided to lock him inside a large cage so he would stop hurting others.
They waited until the lion fell asleep, pushed the cage toward him very quietly, and closed the door well. From that day on, the lion called to every animal that passed by and asked for help.
The Kind Rabbit
A small rabbit passed near the cage and heard the lion say in a sad voice:
🦁 Please let me out. I promise I will not hurt anyone again.
The rabbit hesitated and answered:
🐰 I am afraid you will come out and scare the animals again.
The lion repeated his promise, so the rabbit believed him and opened the cage door.

A Broken Promise
As soon as the lion stepped out, he caught the rabbit and said:
🦁 You will be my first meal today.
The rabbit trembled and wished he had been more careful. Just then, a clever fox was passing by. He heard what happened and quickly thought of a way to save the rabbit.
The Fox's Plan
The fox walked closer and said with surprise:
🦊 I heard you were inside this little cage. I do not believe it. How could the great king of the forest fit in there?
The lion became proud and angry.
🦁 I will show you right now that I was inside it.
The lion went back into the cage. The moment he was inside, the fox hurried forward and shut the door tightly.

The fox looked at the rabbit and said:
🦊 Do not trust someone who breaks a promise. Kindness is good, but it needs wisdom too.
The rabbit thanked the fox. He learned that helping others is a beautiful thing, but it is also important to think carefully before trusting someone who has hurt others before.
