A small lamb was walking through the farm with a short rope tied around his neck. He did not notice an old tree nearby, and the rope wrapped around its trunk.
The lamb tried to move, but the rope tightened each time he turned around the tree. He called for help:
🐑 Baa, baa! Please help me.
The Strong Animals Try
The horse heard the call and hurried over. He held the rope and pulled with all his strength. Then the dog came to help. After a little while, the cow arrived and asked:
🐄 What happened to the lamb?
When she understood the problem, she tried to pull the rope too.

But the rope stayed tight around the trunk. Strong muscles could not solve the problem.
The Mouse Appears
A tiny mouse came out of a nearby hole and asked:
🐭 What is all this noise about?
The animals said:
🐴 The rope is wrapped around the tree, and we cannot cut it.
The mouse smiled and said:
🐭 Let me try.
Some of the animals laughed.
🐾 You are too small. How can you do what we could not do?
A Small Answer to a Big Problem
The mouse did not get angry. He jumped onto the rope and began to chew it with his tiny teeth. After a short time, the rope broke, and the lamb moved freely again.

The animals were happy and thanked the mouse. The lamb said:
🐑 Today I learned that someone small can bring a big solution.
What We Learn
- We should not judge anyone by size.
- Strength is useful, but clever thinking may be better for some problems.
- Working together makes problems easier to solve.
After-Reading Discussion
- Why could the horse and the cow not solve the problem?
- How did the mouse help the lamb?
- Can you think of a time when a simple idea solved a difficult problem?
