How to edit a PDF
- Choose Open PDF, or create a new blank document from the File tab.
- Use Home and Insert to annotate, Pages to organize, and Review to fill existing form fields. Select an added object to change its properties.
- Choose Download PDF for sharing, or Editable backup to continue editing later. One draft can be saved in this browser.
Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. All editing happens in your browser. Your file never leaves your device.
Can I edit the original text in the PDF?
You can add new text and annotations, but cannot replace the original text. Original page content stays vector-based after rotation; added visual elements are saved as an image overlay. Visual cover is not secure redaction. For text rewriting, try PDF to Word.
