Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. ZIP creation and extraction happen in your browser. File contents and passwords are not sent to the site. Reloading or closing the page clears the working session.
Why did my video or photo not become much smaller?
Formats such as MP4 and JPG already compress their content. ZIP often saves more space with text and uncompressed data, and is useful for collecting several files into a single download.
Can I open RAR, 7Z, or password-protected archives?
This tool creates and extracts standard ZIP files. It can extract supported password-protected ZIP files when you know the password. RAR, 7Z, and split archives are not supported, and this version does not create encrypted ZIP files.
Does it work on a phone and preserve folders?
Yes. Use the file picker on your phone and download or share extracted files. Folder selection and saving a whole folder depend on browser support. Folder paths are preserved inside ZIP files. The tool uses lower limits on phones and devices with limited memory.
Can I install it or use the Share menu?
Use the install option in the tool menu where supported. On compatible Android browsers, the installed tool can receive up to 20 files from the Share menu. A single shared ZIP opens in extraction mode; other files open in creation mode. Offline use is available after the tool and processor have loaded once.
